Identification
- Body length: 5- 6mm
- Head and abdomen black in colour
- Thorax primarily black with a yellow collar and a yellow spot between the wings (scutellum)
- Legs black with small yellow markings
- Easily confused with other Crossocerus and identification is generally not possible without the use of a microscope
Habitat
Poorly known, but previous records come from sand dunes.
Flight period
Univoltine between June and August.
Nesting biology
Not well known. It nests solitarily in sandy soils, probably constructing several cells in which the female will deposit paralyzed flies.
