Identification
- Body length: 6-8mm
- Head, thorax and abdomen black in colour
- Legs black in colour
- Antennae relatively long
- Easily confused with other small, black solitary wasps and identification is best carried out using a microscope and specialist keys
Habitat
The sole Irish locality is a beach with sand dunes and coastal scrub. Elsewhere throughout its range, it inhabits the 'marram zone' of sand dune systems.
Flight period
Irish records have been made during August. It is likely univoltine, flying between early June and late August
Nesting biology
Nesting is not known in Ireland.

Not known to visit flowers in Ireland.
