Identification

Adult: 3mm to 4mm in length. Body deep red with 24 black spots. The elytra is covered with fine dense hairs that are visible with a small hand lens. The pronotum is the same deep red as the elytra, and it also has fine hairs.

Irish distribution

There is only one historic record of 24-spot Ladybird from the island of Ireland. It was found on cliffs along the Antrim coast in 1902.
