Fruits: Red berries
& bark: Twigs grey/brown, hairy when young;
bark smooth then with scaly ridges when mature.
Prefers calcareous rocky areas, woods and hedgerows, lowland species
Occasional, native in Co. Galway, probably planted elsewhere
