  • Large sized solitary species (13-15mm)
  • Early spring flight period, March - June
  • Thorax with light brown/ginger hairs
  • Females with orange hind tibia and abdomen with dark hairs
  • Males smaller than females, with hairier faces

Habitat

Associated with woodlands but found in other habitats where Willow is present (e.g. coastal sites with Salix repens).

Ground nesting (dry/sandy dark soil)
