  • Medium sized solitary species (8-10mm)
  • Yellow spots on the thorax where the wings attach
  • Abdomen with black and yellow stripes. The first and second yellow stripes are broken by a distinctive wide gap
  • Legs mainly orange/yellow and antennae dark
  • Often has a yellow collar just below head

Habitat

Known from a range of habitats but strongly associated with heathland

Cleptoparasite. Breeds in nests of Andrena fuscipes, A. denticulata
