Piezodorus lituratus | Gorse Shieldbug
Predominately green with a narrow yellow line along the edge and obvious black dots all over back. Also has all red antennae. In autumn, the adults are darker and have stronger markings.
It can be found in extensive stands of gorse (Ulex europaeus) and broom (Cytisus scoparius).
The Green Shieldbug is similar, but it is not coarsely punctured with dark spots, nor does it have all reddish antennae.
Can be found throughout Ireland.
